I usually hate anything associated with American Idol (except for Simon Cowell *wink*wink*), but the moment I saw and heard Adam Lambert sing, I became a fan. And I'm not just talking about casual affection, I'm talking about hard-core fanatic fandom. Despite my distaste for AI, I purchased tickets to the Idols Live show just to see Adam perform. I now spend a good portion of my time online visiting Adam fansites and reading Adam fanfiction. I have even taken to painting my nails black.

I became a Britney Spears fan after I heard Oops I Did It Again and I couldn't get the song out of my head for days. After that, I found myself surfing Britney fansites and later creating Britney fansites of my own. Despite the personal troubles she's had over the last couple of years, I am still a huge fan. Her Circus album is one of her best yet and her Circus stageshow was a lot of fun to watch.

The first time I heard Rufus Wainwright, I was in a Starbucks getting a latte. I was struck by the unique sound of the singer's voice and the beauty of the lyrics, and Rufus quickly became one of my favorite musicians. I particularly enjoy the way Rufus blends pop, folk, rock and classical genres into his music and the amazing vocal range he has.

I didn't love Lady Gaga the first time I heard her music. It was after hearing "Poker Face" on the radio a million times that I finally gave in to her and became a fan. I love how free she is with her style, her music and her performances. I love that she takes risks and I think they pay off every time. She makes some of the most exciting pop music I have heard in a long, long time.

Vladimir Nabokov's novel Lolita is my favorite novel bar none. I have read it a few times and I always find something new with each read. Although its subject matter is controversial, I really do feel that it is one of the most poignant love stories I have ever read. Either as a novel or as the 1997 Adrian Lyne film adaptation, Lolita is one of my biggest wishlisters.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been one of my favorite movies for a long time. I fell in love with the campiness of the story, the amazing music and or course, Tim Curry in drag. I literally can't count how many times I've watched the movie or how many times I have sung along to the soundtrack. Rocky Horror is one of those movies I can watch over and over and never get sick of.

Severus Snape is my favorite Harry Potter character and one of my favorite literature characters overall. Snape is not strictly a bad guy and he is not strictly a good guy. The grey areas of his character make him a particularly compelling character. As I read each book in the series, I found myself dying to know more about Snape. It also doesn't hurt that the incomparable Alan Rickman does such a fantastic job of portraying Snape in the films.

Alton Brown is my favorite Food Network chef and personality. I first fell in love with him when I tuned into his show Good Eats. I was hooked by the mixture of silliness and science that he brought to the show. I also enjoy his Feasting... series and I love him as the host of Iron Chef America. Basically, I would watch whatever show the man wants to make. He's that awesome.

Gordon Ramsay is a badass! I don't know why, but I totally love his verbally abusive, larger-than-life persona on Hell's Kitchen. I also really like his less angry UK shows Kitchen Nightmares and The F Word. I had the pleasure of eating at his restaurant at the London West Hollywood in LA while my husband and I were staying there for our honeymoon. The food was out-of-this-world-good! He truely is a uniquely talented chef. I just adore him.

Lady Gaga makes the most visually stunning, unusual music videos. I think Gaga has incredible vision and impeccable taste when it comes to visually styling her music videos. She always has interesting concepts, great costumes and unique choreography for her videos. Her "Bad Romance" music video is one of the best music videos I have seen, ever. From the visual style to the choreography, the video is perfect. I can't wait to see what she does next.
